About Khanyisa Projects


Khanyisa Projects is made up of a number of specialist education, development and communication practitioners who apply sound project management principles in all their initiatives. Khanyisa Projects has vast experience in the delivery of community development programmes, awareness programmes, skills training and public participation initiatives.

Khanyisa Projects services can be summarized by two key modes of operation.

Firstly, Khanyisa Projects empowers citizens or customers through communication and education to make the appropriate life choices and to develop themselves and their communities in a sustainable manner.
Secondly, Khanyisa Projects assists organisations to effectively communicate with their customers, residents or staff to achieve positive behavioural change or to develop relationships that allow efficient project rollout.

Khanyisa Projects is based in Mayville, Durban but operates throughout KwaZulu Natal. Through various partnerships, it is also able to offer services in other key centres within the country.

VISION

Our vision is to strive for the upliftment of communities and our personnel through specific communication, training and development strategies. Khanyisa Projects aims to achieve this vision through sustainable living solutions, community interface solutions, broad-based awareness programmes, public participation as well as through formally accredited training programmes.

AWARDS

Khanyisa Projects has managed two projects which have received the prestigious Impumelelo Awards for innovation and contributions towards community upliftment.

2000: The wastewater education programme for eThekwini Municipality

2006: Targeting of over 20 000 eThekwini customers in arrears through a ground breaking programme which addressed issues of arrears, high consumption, water loss and consumer data weaknesses. The programme was able to reduce water loss in targeted areas by an average of 7000 litres per customer

Another award includes:
2007: Khanyisa Projects was recognised by the Rotary Club of Durban for its contribution to the upliftment of under privileged communities in KwaZulu Natal.


EQUITY

Khanyisa Projects is 50% black owned. In addition, it is committed to the provision of employment opportunities to previously disadvantaged individuals.

ACCREDITATION STATUS

Khanyisa Projects are accredited Training Providers through Energy SETA (Accreditation number 583/0174).

We currently have full approval to offer the National Certificates: Community Water, Health and Sanitation Promotion, NQF Levels 1,2,3 & 4.

Skills Programmes awaiting approval are:
The rainwater Harvesting and Vegetable Growing for Facilitators Working with Communities, NQF Levels 1 & 2.

Local Economic Development (LED), NQF Levels 2,3 & 4.
